Astronomers have today announced the discovery of a new extra-solar planet (ie. a planet orbiting a star other than the Sun) orbiting within the Star’s “habitable zone”. As the title of this post suggests, the planet was found in the system called “Gliese 581″, a red dwarf star approximately 20 light years from Earth.
